Hardly Wasted Time

Well here I am, sitting on my balcony in Tranås, finally back after two months of waiting on the Swedish Migrationsverket to issue me a visa. The air is crisp and the sun is low, but there is a sense of hope and expectancy in the air as it becomes joyously clear that spring is imminent. As I look back on the time that I spent stateside this winter, I cannot help but feel blessed. Granted, the time was a month longer than expected, and every day I woke up with the excitement and hope that my visa would come that day, only to be disappointed with the mailman yet again, but still I know that the two months I had in Rochester, NY and Southern Pines, NC was time well spent, and more importantly time ordained by the living God.

Whether it was preaching for seventy five high school students at Grace Church, meeting with pastors and donors to update them on my time here, talking to high schoolers about Jesus at Windy Gap, or just getting coffee in town with friends, the Lord continually blessed me with opportunities to preach the gospel and be a living witness of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. It was a very fruitful time, and it seemed like every day I was meeting with someone to talk about Jesus, some new Christians and some more established. Christ was continuing His work in spite of my weakness and preoccupation with things of this world – and for that I will boast. Christ is supreme, that even in time that seemed to be wasted, He was glorified.

I sincerely thank you for your prayer and support, and I can’t wait to tell you all about how God is moving in Sweden.

In Him,

Mark
